Paula Nicotera Khriste Laor died of complications from Diabetes on February 13, 2010. Born August 15, 1948 in Utica, New York, Paula began her performing professionally at age 2. She appeared on local children's television programs and weekly radio shows. At age 5, she was performing in various local venues. She studied dance, singing, and acting while in New York, and performed in many venues in the North East United States. By the age of 18 she was singing in night clubs in New York and Michigan. Paula had success as an all around entertainer including a tour of the country in the 1980's with a Las Vegas style show band, playing at many big hotels in Las Vegas and San Francisco. She ended her tour in Phoenix, AZ and resided here from 1980 until now. Paula spent many years singing with her group "SASSY", providing entertainment throughout the Phoenix area. She also spent many years teaching voice to students ages 4 and up and was the Producer/Manager of Galaxy 2000 Entertainment group of children ages 7-18 who performed in Phoenix. She leaves her loving husband of three years, Lee Laor, her sister and partner Jinnie Nicotera and Dee Martin, New Orleans, LA; her step mom and step dad, Kathleen Nicotera and William Williams, two step sisters, Patricia Doyle and Barbara Zieman, all of New York State, brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Adrienne Nicotera, Philadelphia, PA; nieces Meghan Doyle, Alexis Nicotera and Emily Zieman; nephews Timothy Doyle and Salvatore Nicotera, and dear friends Amber Nicotera and Carl O'Shea. Additionally she leaves many loving cousins in the Utica area and across the country as well as many friends in the Phoenix area. She was predeceased by her parents Louis Nicotera and Stella Adamo Nicotera; and two brothers, Philip Nicotera and Patrick Nicotera. Paula was loved and admired by family and friends, and she will be sorely missed.
